Hi! I’m Allyssa, but you can call me Lyss. Or Liz. I’m a twenty-something web designer who calls New Jersey home. I love country music, cats, and cupcakes more than anyone should. I like to make people laugh with corny jokes and when that doesn’t work, I’ll win you over with my self-proclaimed amazing baking skills. I stand at a whopping 4’9″, which makes me the perfect Black Friday shopper. I can weasel my way through a crowd like it’s nobody’s business. My favorite season is one where temperatures are above 60 degrees and my favorite date is April 25th because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket. I’m a sucker for a summer thunderstorm and I’ve been known to eat lemons at restaurants without blinking an eye. I make references to Gilmore Girls much too frequently and I get way too excited at the mention of Big Brother. Oh and I have a cat — his name is Tyler and he is trouble with a capital T.

the blog

The Barn (previously Lyss Barn) was created in May 2012 after several failed blogging attempts, including a stint in food blogging (turns out that while I love to bake/cook, I don’t like writing about it!). This blog is my creative outlet. A place where I can create and share with the world. Since this blog is based on what I find inspiring, you’ll find posts on a variety of topics, including style, design, and blogging.
