An Announcement

In true Allyssa-like fashion, saying I’m taking a break means I become overwhelmed with post ideas the minute I declare it. What’s up with that? Next time I should just draft up a break post, not post it, then be on my way to blogging happily.

Anyway, I was going to post this announcement next week, but I’m kind of ahead of schedule so I’m thinking of moving my timeline forward by a week. Plus, I’m just too excited!

So back in October I was thinking of changing my blog name. Obviously that never happened.

Now here we are months later and I’m pleased to announce that the name change is finally happening. I spent hours weeks trying to come up with the perfect name. Something that I could work with for a very long time. After passing a couple of names back and forth, I finally came up with a name I like and I couldn’t be happier.

Okay, so now that I’ve gone on and on about it, I bet you’re wondering what the new site is. Right?

Drumroll please.

Nothing earth shattering here. Just a nice, simple name that’s easy to remember (and spell!). Plus it ties into Lyssbarn as well as my portfolio (which I’ll be relaunching next week!). It’s a win win.

So how will this name change take place? As of this weekend, Lyssbarn will be no more. The blog might be temporarily down for part of this weekend. By Monday, February 25th, the new site will be up. Going to lyssbarn.com will redirect you to thebarnblog.com.

As far as social media, my Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest will all remain the same. My Facebook page will change names, but that is all. You will not have to re-like it. I still have to look into transferring my RSS feed, but if anything changes with that, I’ll let you know. Same with Bloglovin.

I’m hoping that the transition will go as smoothly as possible, but usually that’s not the case. So bear with me as I get this all figured out.

I hope you’re as excited as I am for this change. It’s been a long time coming and I’m so glad I finally decided to just go for it!

PS: Just posting this news is so nerve wracking! I guess in a way it makes the name change official. There’s no turning back now!
