With winter comes dry skin. It’s inevitable. The cold, dry air wreaks havoc on most everyone’s skin. If you’re like me and have severely dry skin, winter makes your already dry skin almost unmanageable. Whether you have dry skin or not, proper skin care is essential during the cold winter months. These are some of my go to winter skin care products, most of which I actually use year round.
My go to lotion is Eucerin Intensive Repair Very Dry Skin Lotion. It has a thick, almost glue-like consistency that keeps my skin hydrated. If you don’t have severely dry skin, this probably isn’t the lotion for you. If I really want to moisturize well, I’ll use Vaseline or Eucerin Original Healing Soothing Repair Creme. Both of these products are extremely greasy, so I only use them if necessary.
In addition to lotion, I try to use a moisturizing body wash in the shower. I don’t know if it makes much of a difference, but I figure it doesn’t hurt. My favorite is DoveĀ Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash. I use it with a loofah and warm (not hot) water. Hot water dries out your skin, so the cooler the better!
Dry skin likes to accumulate, so an exfoliating product is a must. I’ve been usingĀ St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub for years. It gets rid of all the dead skin cells, which leaves you with silky smooth skin. Although this product is meant for use on the face, I often use it on my legs and elbows too!
Feet are tricky. Mine are prone to cracking, so I have to go above and beyond when moisturizing. The typical Vaseline and sock trick usually works wonders, but it’s not necessarily shoe friendly. That’s why I love O’Keefe’s Healthy Feet foot cream. It’s extremely moisturizing while not overly greasy. It’s marketed towards people who work on their feet, so you know it has to be good!
Two products that I carry everywhere are Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and EOS Smooth Lip Balm Sphere in sweet mint. Both do an amazing job at moisturizing and they’re both 100% natural!
What are your go to skincare products for the winter?

I love your list! I don’t have a skincare regimen – bad, I know! I do own that Apricot scrub, and I’ve had the Dove moisturizing body wash, however the latter made me break out. You know when products target people with sensitive skin? Yeah, even THOSE usually make me break out horribly. I’m not about to give up on a skincare regimen though, I’m just more pumped to find one that will WORK.
I wrote a blog post just a little earlier this evening and included eos! I haven’t ever tried any of their lip balm, but I so want to!
Anyway, in that blog post I mentioned Blissoma products which are some of the *only* facial cleansers that don’t cause breakouts and they are all natural. Love it!
EOS lip balm is amazing! I used to strictly use Burt’s Bees, but once I tried EOS I was hooked! It’s sad because sometimes I find myself licking my lips because the balm tastes so good. Probably defeats the purpose of a lip balm haha.
Love, love the St. Ives scrub and eos lip balm. I also use that Burt’s Bees stuff on my nails and cuticles- but I totally need to use it more. Also, I’m 100% a Dove girl- it’s the only soap and body wash I use!
I used to use cheap body wash, but Dove is so much better! I think if I were to branch out, the only other brand I’d try is Aveeno!
I love St. Ives Shea Butter and Oatmeal lotion for dry skin (I like the body wash too). Their other versions are good for dry skin too. I sometimes use it on my feet too and it keeps them pretty soft. If I’m not using lotion on my feet I use petroleum jelly, that keeps them warm and soft.
I also love the EOS lip balms. I like the packaging, makes them easy to find in the bottom of a bag. The only thing I don’t like about them is when you get all the way to the bottom they balm sits on a “grate”. I usually have to sit it upside down and melt it and then let it re-harden in the lid portion so that last bit doesn’t get wasted.
Thanks for the heads up about the EOS balms. I haven’t actually finished one yet, but one is getting close! I guess it’s not the most practical design, but it sure is fun!
I still have yet to try the EOS lip balm! I’ve got to get my hands on it!
Yes you do! The next time you’re in Target pick one up!
That cuticle cream is a huge blessing. I put it on before bed as often as I can remember. I use the hand one too. I use the St. Ives every morning. It’s all I ever use. I’ve been avoiding Eos. They’re so big. I like my chapstick in my pocket!
haha, yeah the EOS balms are not exactly portable! They do make it in stick form as well. I don’t know where you could buy it though.
Okay, you’ve convinced me. It’s time for a scrub. I’ve never really done one but my winter skin is begging for it!
Scrubs are the best. My skin always feels so smooth afterwards!
I also love Nuxe Oil. I spread it all over my face, cuticles, hands, knees, elbows, right after showering. I think it works like a moisture seal!
Hmm, I’ll have to check it out!
I really hate how this weather treats my skin! I must try that lip balm – my burt’s bees doesn’t see to be doing the job anymore.
I still use Burt’s Bees occasionally, but I love EOS so much more! Plus it’s more fun to put on, so I find myself using it more often!
