Did you know Pinterest gives you 3 secret boards? Anything you pin to these boards will be completely private. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t really have a need secret boards. I could see why other people would use them, but I personally didn’t have a need for them. That is until I realized their potential for blogging!

Every week I always end up posting one or more collages. My process goes something like this:

Find products. Copy images into my editing program. Copy URLs for later use. Create collage. Import collage into WordPress. Write post.

Sometimes I don’t have the time to sit and create the collage then and there, but I still have to save the URLs. Sure I could bookmark them, but let’s face it, my bookmarks are a bottomless pit.

Here’s where Pinterest comes in handy. I created a secret board I titled Upcoming Posts. Now when I’m searching for products, I can just pin them to that board and come back later. Obviously you can do this with a non-secret board as well, but have you ever followed someone on Pinterest and you could just tell what their next post is going to be about based on their pins? I like to keep things mysterious , so using a secret board is perfect.

When I’m ready to create my collage and write my post, I can go to my secret Pinterest board and everything I need is right there. I can even make the board public if I want.

Since discovering this little trick, writing blog posts has been so much easier. I wish I would have thought of it sooner!
